Janice Evelyn Reyburn (Blaesi) went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 11, peacefully in her sleep. She was four days short of her 87th birthday. Born April 15, 1936 to Louis Blaesi and Evelyn Chamberlain Blaesi in Tacoma, WA, Janice graduated from Federal Way High School and attended University of Washington. She married Shelby Laurence (Larry) Reyburn on June 17, 1955 after meeting him in a roller rink two years earlier as he was enroute to Korea. They faithfully corresponded by mail, and when he returned from the war he proposed and they were married in Tacoma. They made their home in many places in Michigan as Larry was a Michigan State policeman, eventually retiring in Cedar Springs, MI. Janice and Larry farmed the family acreage, growing corn, pumpkins, tomatoes, and flowers to dry, arrange, and sell at craft fairs. Janice was a very talented florist who enjoyed her friends, family, and Bible studies. She was involved in many church groups at Magnify Church in Rockford, MI, and was a member at Covenant Life Presbyterian Church in Sarasota, FL. Janice was a “shining light” and a prayer warrior who was unafraid to tell of her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her son, Dean Reyburn (Martha); daughter, Joanne Pann (Joseph); sister, Judith Dobson; brother, Louis Blaesi, Jr.; seven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Joey Pann; husband, Shelby Laurence (Larry) Reyburn. Her family is grateful for the friendships made and wonderful home she had at StoryPoint Retirement Community in Rockford, her prayer partners at Magnify Church, and the tender care she received at Trinity Hospital (St. Mary’s) in Grand Rapids. Please send memorial gifts to Samaritan’s Purse as this ministry was dear to her heart. May her memory be a blessing! The family will receive friends 5-7 pm on Friday, April 14 at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15 at Magnify Church Rockford in the Commons at 11:00 am. Please enter door 1 of the church. Pastor Louie Konopka officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Sparta.
