James Duane “Jim” Main age 66 of Cedar Springs, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his home. He was born May 26, 1959 in Big Rapids, the son of the late Duane and Sandra (Price) Main. Jim graduated from Kent City High School in 1977 and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Jim was proud of his Lakota Sioux ancestry. He was a certified RV and diesel mechanic for many years. Jim met Dianna in the summer of 1998 at the Patio Lounge in Muskegon. He was the light and sound man for a local, well-known band called, Blues in the House with Big Daddy Fox and Company. Jim loved music. They married on June 20, 2000. Jim a Gemini and Dianna a Virgo, they each held true to themselves, not compatible according to their signs, but it worked for them. They clicked, Dianna’s husband and best friend. Jim enjoyed working on anything with a motor, including riding motorcycles, building and working on the Bronco with his son. He enjoyed farm life, raising chickens and farming with his wife and selling eggs. Jim’s true passion in life was fishing, whether the lake was big or small, he would dip a lure anywhere. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Dianna; children, Tena Marie Laprise, Austin James Main, Rachelle Marie White; grandchildren, Dresden, Jourdain, Nehemiah, McKenzie, Skylar, Maleik, Eva, Kailey; great-grandchildren, LJ, Bentley and Satine; brothers, John (Sheila) Main, Gary (Xiaofang) Main, Cameron (Ann) Main; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Edward Laprise II; brother Donovan Main; grandmother, Eva Main.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to M46 Posse, 5000 Hall Rd., Muskegon, MI 49442.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2026 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Chaplain Leo B. Smith, officiating. Interment, Stanwood Cemetery.
