James Leo Jausly, aged 92, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 29, 2014. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by Evelyn, his beloved and cherished wife of 70 years; children, Robert Jausly, Kathleen & Douglas Gillette, Judy & Michael Mooney. A WWII and Korean War veteran of six years in the Army Air Corp and a Chicago policeman, Jim proudly and courageously served the country he loved. Formerly a 20 year resident of White Cloud, they eventually settled in Grand Rapids. He had an ardent interest in history, politics, mathematics and so enjoyed storytelling. His quick sense of humor and optimistic attitude endeared him to many. Throughout their years together, Jim and Evie encouraged, inspired and tended to many family, friends, neighbors and those in need worldwide. They readily made lifelong friends through their many adventurous travels. Sometimes called "the candyman", Jim left a trail of butterscotch and goodwill wherever he went. He'd want to say, "stick with the Cubs!" The family is so very grateful to the tender loving staff at Oak Crest in Jenison, Spectrum Health Hospice, and Holy Redeemer Church volunteers who expressed so much love and care. "Jesus Himself is our Peace:” A private family ceremony was held, arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
