James A. Byers

James A. Byers age 92 of Sparta died Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home with his family. He was born January 4, 1931 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI the son of Wilford and Bernice (Brubaker) Byers. He enjoyed camping, traveling and canoeing. He was always involved in projects including building his own canoe. He was an avid reader. Surviving are his children, Laura (Nick) Vodry, John (Shayne Storck) Byers, Kathi Byers; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Byers; grandchildren, Samantha (Shane) Schultz, Jim Byers, Ben Byers, Emily Byers, Savannah Storck; great grandson, Hunter Schultz; sister, Janet (Art) Wacker; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; son, David Byers. The family will greet friends Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10:30 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1200 Post Dr, Belmont. Rev. Fr. Dan Buchin officiating.
