Jacob Timothy Parkhurst

Jacob T. Parkhurst, 20 of Kent City, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Keweenaw County, MI due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jacob was born February 17, 1989 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of James and Laura (Tilson) Parkhurst. He was a 2007 graduate of Tri-County High School where he was involved in the band and member of the National Honor Society. He had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Jacob was going to be a junior at Michigan Technological University where he was a Resident Assistant and Community Coordinator. Surviving are his mother, Laura Willard of Kent City; father and stepmother, James & Julie Parkhurst of Sand Lake; brothers, Benjamin Parkhurst, Nathan Parkhurst; sister, Maggie Willard; grandparents, Patsy Newman, Gerald & Laura Tilson, Jeanette & Curtis Parkhurst, Keith & Jane Howard; great grandmother, Margaret Newman; many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Sand Lake. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County High School Band Boosters or Keweenaw Pride.
