Jack E. Wainright, 84 of Pierson Township, Sand Lake, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at his home. Jack was born February 2, 1924 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Eveard and Bertha (Hinkley) Wainright. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force 8th Division. He retired from Dohler-Jarvis after 30 years of service and then sold real estate. Jack was a member of the Tri-County VFW Post 7912 and the DAV. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean (Kilts) whom he married on September 17, 1948; 4 children, Sharon & Arnold Magoon of Cedar Springs, Dennis Wainright and Marcia Westhuis of Sand Lake, Janet & Chris Arnold of Lansing, Alice & Kim McNees of Sand Lake; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and expecting 1 more soon; 2 sisters-in-law, Joan Wainright of Sand Lake, Leona Wainright of Cedar Springs. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard Wainright, and Theodore Wainright; 2 sisters, Gladys Miller and Louise Totten. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am. Pastor Verta Giddings officiating.
