Jack H. Gillow, 80, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008 at his home with his family after a long, hard fight against cancer. Jack and his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline, recently moved to Cedar Springs to be next door to their daughter, Kim Gillow and Mary Balon. He was a lifelong resident of Milford, MI where he served as Postmaster for 25 years. Jack was a true community servant, holding numerous positions, including the Huron Valley School Board and Chamber of Commerce. Also surviving are his son, Henry Gillow-Wiles (Kate) and grandchildren, Miriam, Alex, and Jack of Monroe, OR; his favorite sister-in-law, Phyllis Fuller of Austin, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to the ER nurses at United Memorial in Greenville, Lacks Cancer Center, and Kevin Pike at Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home in Milford with visitation from noon until the time of the funeral.
