Isaiah Jeffrey James Slater 18 of Kent City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from injuries in an auto accident. Isaiah was born December 21, 1997 in Florida and was adopted by Gerald and Deborah (Waddington) Slater. He had attended Algoma Christian School and graduated from Kent City High School in 2016. He worked in the gift shop at the Amway Grand Hotel and was attending GRCC for accounting. Born with Spina Bifida and other physical challenges, he never used his disabilities as an excuse. He had an unstoppable spirit and was very forgiving. He offered a lot more love to others than he received. He loved to bake and serve others. Most of all he loved the Lord. Surviving are his parents, Jerry (Deborah) Slater; brothers, Mason (Melinda), Elijah, and Parker; sisters, Britalia (Blake) Dolinger, Shaylee (Ray) Avila, Keslyn Gang, Chanin Slater; nieces and nephews, Isabelle, Olivia, Adelyn, Lana and Santiago; grandmothers, Elaine Waddington and Louise Slater; many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be Wednesday 11:00 am at Kent City Baptist Church.
