Io Kay Anthony

Io Kay Anthony age 84, died Monday, December 2, 2024 in Grand Rapids. Io was born on January 1, 1940 in Petoskey, the daughter of Alonzo and Beatrice (Griffin) Amacher. Io was an excellent cook, enjoyed making quilts for family, doing crafts with her kids and loved camping. She always sang in the car with her children on family vacations. Io had a passion for helping people in need, often putting others before herself. She will be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Gerald) Reid, Diana (Glen) Roberts, Michelle (Don)Youngs, Kay (Richard) Cole; grandchildren, Theresa, Andrew, Anna, Lindy, Kira, Corban, Shanae, Eric, Lisa, Kari, James, Alonzo, Tina; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Emerson “Emmy”, Branwyn, Dallen George, Declan, Blakely; siblings, Dianne Davis, Brian Amacher; special cousin, Shannon DeMyer; special “grandson” Elijah; and daughter-in-love, Joyce. Io was preceded in death by her husband, George; sons, Alonzo “Lonnie” Anthony and Jeffrey Bahmer.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, December 9 at Pierson Bible Church, 101 Grand St., Pierson, MI 49339 with visitation at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
