Horace R. "Bob" Merlington

Horace Robert “Bob” Merlington, 76, died, Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Bob was born on October 6, 1932, on Stoll Road in DeWitt Township, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, one grandchild, and wife of 37 years, Shirley May Merlington. He is survived by his daughters Robin, Sherry, and Laurie, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 1 brother. While his time on earth was troubled, his presence will be dearly missed by those that loved him and knew him well. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Saturday 11:00 am. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mental Health Association of Michigan, 30233 Southfield Road, Southfield, MI 48076, to fund research and treatment of mental health patients and their families.
