Holly L. VanderHorn

Holly Lee (Garforth) VanderHorn, age 71, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025. She was born November 9, 1954 and was the daughter of Delmar Garforth and Phyllis (Woodman) and Glen Salisbury. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was a testament to faith, love, and kindness.

Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. A faithful servant of God, she was deeply involved in her church, Cedar Springs Christian Church. She especially cherished her time spent in Bible study with her beloved group of church ladies and her lovable dog, Chewy. She found peace and happiness in the simple things—feeling the warmth of the sun on her face, spending time near the water, or enjoying a good game of cards with friends and family. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord, and we will see her again one day.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Larry; children, Corey Carpenter, Melinda Gannon, Melissa Caropepe, Katie (Jaime) Velazquez, Jonathan VanderHorn, Tammy VanderHorn, Vern (Ann) VanderHorn, Kevin (Keri) VanderHorn; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Johnson, Sharon (Larry) Baker, Wendy DeBoer, Denni (Dave) Manchester-Miedema; aunt, Gail TeVelde; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Holly was preceded in death by her parents and nephews, Todd and Aaron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to assist with funeral costs may be made to K.E. Pike Funeral Home.

Visitation and Funeral will be held at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, MI. Visitation will be Thursday, December 18 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will he be held on Friday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jeff Lemire officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow.
