Henry V. Porter

Henry V. Porter, 93 of Cedar Springs, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at his home. Henry was born September 25, 1914 in Oceana County, MI the son of James and Alvena (Zarnow) Porter. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and had retired from Gibsons. He was a Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are 2 sons, Stanley Porter & Ruth Weippert of Newberry, James & Susan Porter of Cedar Springs; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Porter, Sarah Gonzalas, Matthew Porter, Rachael Porter, Jacob Porter, Hank Porter; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Beatrice Gowell of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred in 1992. At his request, there will be no services. Interment will take place next to his wife in East Nelson Cemetery.
