Helga Rydz

Helga Rydz age 77 of Pierson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home. Helga was born the youngest of three daughters on November 7, 1947 in Friedberg Hessen, Ockstadt Kreis, Germany to Erich and Elfriede (Rapprich) Kolossa. She met and married her husband and love, Anthony Rydz while he was stationed in the U.S. Army in Germany. Together they had three children, Karla Taylor, Anthony “Tony” (Kelly) and Heidi (Tim) Adamczak. Helga had a strong love for Jesus and was very passionate about her faith, declaring to everyone she met that Jesus is coming!!! She loved cooking, dancing and her family very much. She will be remembered for being extremely giving, a friend to all who met her, the ultimate haggler at garage sales and her amazing German holiday dishes like Potatoe pancakes, Rouladen, Amerikaner cookies and Marzipan. Surviving are her children, Tony and Heidi, 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sisters, Maria Grant and Buni Pearson. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karla; husband, Anthony and special friend, Doris Mader. The family will greet friends Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 – 7 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be Friday 11:00 am at the Church of the Full Gospel, Sand Lake. Pastor Jason Reed officiating. Interment Pierson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice or the Church of the Full Gospel.
