Helen J. Heemstra

Helen J. Heemstra age 89 of Cedar Springs, formerly of Stanwood, MI passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020. She was born June 2, 1930 in Bellaire, MI the daughter of Horace and Clara (Kooman) Marshall. On June 21, 1947 she married the love of her life, Donald Heemstra. She had a great love of gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, Roger Craig Heemstra. Surviving are her children, Ron (Ann) Heemstra, Judy (Joe) Hanichen, Shari (Jeff) Piccard, Terri (Steve) Katsma; grandchildren, Nikki (Mark), Philip, Tim (Abby), Sabrina, Zachary, Travis; great grandchildren, Jackson and Sebastian. Helen came from a large family of eleven sisters and brothers. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. A luncheon and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 29 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Rockford Reformed Church, 4890 11 Mile Road, Rockford.
