Harriet Marie Martin

Harriet Marie Martin, 90 of Howard City, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Marie was born August 20, 1921 in Covington, KY the daughter of William and Lillian (McCreary) Meacham. Marie was a very sweet and pleasant lady whose passion was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, reading and flower gardening. Surviving are her children, Pamela (Dallas) Almus-Smith, Cathy Daigre, Robert (Danette) Martin, Jr., Lynn (Patrick Spaulding) Allen, Kimberly (Donald) LaForest; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 more expected. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; brother, William Leonard Meacham; sons-in-law, Don Daigre and Gordy Allen; grandson, Jason Daigre. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where a rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, Howard City with a luncheon immediately following. Rev. Fr. James B. Wyse celebrant. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sand Lake 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
