Harriet G. Chase

Harriet G. Chase age 83 of Howard City went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Harriet was born August 11, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Harry and Jeanette Meyering. Harriet married her sweetheart Stanley Chase II 64 years ago and went on to have 5 children. They moved to Howard City in the 1960’s where they loved living on Indian Lake. Harriet enjoyed living life to its fullest. Whether she was selling real estate or flying across the oceans to explore, she had a twinkle in her bright blue eyes. Along with travelling she enjoyed tennis, skiing, playing bridge and golfing. She loved spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her husband, Stanley Chase II; children, Stanley (Melinda) Chase III, Dr. Timothy (Sharon) Chase, CaroleSue (Victor) Stout; daughter-in-law, Jan Chase; grandchildren, Deanna (Josh) Munson, Eric (Sammi) Veltkamp, Dr. Jessica Chase, Heather Ames, Meghan Ames, Allison Ames, Nicholas Chase, Alexandra Chase, Christopher Chase, Mackenzie Morris, Trigg Morris; great grandchildren, Cooper Munson, Lillian Munson Andi Veltkamp, Chase Veltkamp; sister, Elizabeth Klaassens; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Josef Chase, Chris Chase; daughter-in-law, Courtnay Chase; siblings and their spouses, Gordon (Rolina) Meyering, Ralph (Eleanor) Meyering, John (Marjorie) Meyering, Necia (Rev. Jay) Wesseling; brother-in-law, Lawrence Klaassens. The family will greet friends Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Grace Community Church 9920 N. Reed Rd. Howard City, MI from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment Reynolds Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands- PO Box 532 Howard City, MI 49329.
