View Photo Tribute H. Max Eldred, 89 of Cedar Springs, departed this life Saturday, March 10, 2007 and traveled to his heavenly home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. Max was born April 6, 1917 in Cedar Springs, MI, the son of Riley and Clara Belle (Jacobs) Eldred. At age 18 he began working for and later became owner of the local grain elevator, where he worked for about 30 years. In 1971, he and his son built White Creek Country Estates, which he owned and operated until his death. Max was a member of the Cedar Springs Free Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle (Moyes) whom he married on September 4, 1937; two sons and their spouses, Russell & Mara Eldred of Cedar Springs, Jack & Mary Eldred of Chesterfield, NJ: four grandchildren, Sean, Brandon, Anitra, and Michael (Ann); five great grandchildren, Timothy, Dustin, Megan, Sydney, and Jackson; one brother Vernon and Delores Eldred of Cedar Springs; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, Leon, L.D., Erwin, Keith, Bernice, Eula, Thelma, and Norma. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com. The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at the Cedar Springs Free Methodist Church. Pastors Barry Briggs and Wayne Cash officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs.
