Glenn E. Waite

Glenn E. Waite, 82 of Cedar Springs, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Mr. Waite was born March 5, 1928 in Kingston, Ohio the son of George and Mary (Goodchild) Waite. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University. He worked for Sinclair Oil Company for many years and had owned his own dredging company. Glenn was an avid sports fan, loved hunting, fishing, golfing, (golfed his age at 81). He had an infectious smile and enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. He loved his family and was a great dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and a good friend to many. Surviving are his children, Sue (Tim) Wolfe, George (Sandra) Waite, Mike (Darci) Waite; grandchildren, Nick (Krista) Wolfe, Autumn (Scott) Mattson, Katie (Joe) Trolla, Cannon (Mary Kate) Waite, Adam Waite, Chelsi Waite; great grandchildren, Drew and Evan Mattson, Sienna and Eli Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby; and an infant daughter, Becky. The family will greet friends Saturday from 11:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Rockford. Fr. Tony Russo, celebrant. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Kingston, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
