Gerard J. Smith

Gerard J. Smith age 66 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at his home. He was born October 7, 1958 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Patin) Smith who preceded him in death. Gerard was a huge Michigan fan and loved the Maize & Blue. He enjoyed cycling and staying physically fit and traveling. He collected 1/16 die cast tractors and farm equipment. He was enjoying his retirement after many years of working at Amway. Surviving are his wife, Lynn; step daughter, Brittany Graham; mother-in-law, Gayle A. Baker; siblings, Larry (Licha) Smith, Anne Marie (Gary) Barton, Dolores (Mark) Huizinga, Christopher (Elizabeth) Smith, Regina (Dennis) Polkowski, MaryAnne (Wade) Laverack, Judithanne (Clifford) Nigli, Annette (Todd) Schautz, Stephen Smith, Margaret Smith; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends Sunday, July 6 from 4-7 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 11:00 am at St. Isidore Catholic Church with visitation at 10:00 a.m., 628 Diamond Avenue NE, Grand Rapids. Mgsr. Edward Hankiewicz, Celebrant. Private family interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sand Lake. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
