Gerald L. Black

Gerald Lee “Jerry” Black age 66 of Pierson died Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1957 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of John and Ruth (Nielsen) Black. Jerry was a longtime employee of Frigidaire. He was a 1976 graduate of Cedar Springs High School where he was on the wrestling team. He enjoyed singing, teasing his sister and anyone else, riding his truck on the sand dunes and going to Eldora Speedway. Jerry could not go anywhere without seeing someone he knew. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Brunges; daughter, Sadie Black (Nick Caterino); son, John (Charity) Black; grandson, Tommy Black; sister, Diane (Murray) Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, John T.W. Black. The family will greet friends 6-8 pm Friday, November 17 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will take place 11 am Saturday with visiting one hour prior. Memorials to Corewell Health Hospice or Lemmen Holton Cancer Center.
