George E. Michaels

George E. Michaels, 96 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his home. George was born July 22, 1917 in Paris, MI the son of Eugene and Maud (MacFarlane) Michaels. As a young man he worked in the oil fields in Big Rapids and then became a machinist in Grand Rapids. He also farmed throughout his life. He was an avid horseback rider and enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing with his wife. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Della May; children, Mary Nunnaley, Gene (Linda) Michaels, John (Carolyn) Michaels; 3 granddaughters; 10 great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Interment will take place at West Cemetery, Big Rapids. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
