Gary L. Hansen

Gary L. Hansen age 74 of Rockford died Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home. He was born March 21, 1950 in Lakeview, MI the son of Merle and Betty (Inman) Hansen. He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. The loves of his life included his wife, children, grandchildren and family. He cherished any moments spent with his grandkids, traveling with Peggy, winters in Texas and happy hour with great friends and family on the deck in both Michigan and Texas. Gary enjoyed watching sports, the Lions and U of M, playing Acquire board game with his brothers, and “debating” politics. Surviving are his wife, Peggy (Nielsen); children, Kory (Kristen) Schestag, Mindy (Kevin) Schestag; grandchildren, Alex, Megan, Avery and Emily Schestag; siblings, David Hansen, Steve (Toni) Hansen, Mike Hansen, Randy (Wendy) Hansen, Cathy Parks; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Hansen. The family will greet friends Friday, November 15 from 3 – 5 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A celebration of Gary’s life will follow the visitation at the Rockford Community Cabin, 220 North Monroe St, Rockford starting at 6:00 pm. Please join us for either or both of these times.
