Fredrick G. Carlon “Uncle Jr.”age 89 of Cedar Springs, passed on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus. He was born October 24, 1933 the son of Fred and Leona (Richardson) Carlon in Grand Rapids, MI. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War where he was a communications and navigation officer on B52’s. Fred was a machinist for Williams Form Engineering for 44 years retiring in 1994. He was a devoted Tiger and U of M fan. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, tinkering and fixing things. He loved his grandchildren and attended many of their sporting events. Surviving are his wife, Ruth whom he married on July 2, 1955; children, Fredrick Michael (Kristy) Carlon, Timothy Ross (Anita) Carlon, Kimberly Kay (Mark) Cavner; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie (Chad) Gillespie, Rachael (Nathan) Acker, Fredrick Michael Jr. (Nicole) Carlon, Lauren (Chad) Williams, Brent (Katie) Cavner, Joseph Carlon; 7 great grandchildren, Dean, Paydin, Kylie, Skyler, Tayton, Isabella and Ryleigh; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and their spouses. The family will greet family and friends Monday, June 12 from 6-8 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Tuesday 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Pastor Rick Miller officiating.
