Frederick L. Koetsier age 78 of Cedar Springs went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2019. He was born September 29, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Frederick and Eleanor (Erhardt) Koetsier. Fred was a loving man who was dedicated to the Lord. His love of life shined through everything he did; from attending all of his kids and grandkids sporting events, snowmobiling, boating, and wave runner trips with family and friends, to the immaculate care he gave to everything he owned. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix or build. Fred enjoyed driving truck across the country for work and pleasure. He was a living atlas and knew all the backroads of America. For the last 25 years he delivered over 25,000 Bibles to truck stops through Highway Connections. He was devoted to his family and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Nancy; children, Robert (Kathryn) Koetsier, Douglas (Beverly) Koetsier, Kimberly (Craig) Walters; grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Koetsier, Kristin (Lee) McNally, Brad (Liz) Koetsier, Audrey (Tim) O’Connor, Alex Koetsier, Kaycee (Ted) Vella, Nicole Walters, Danielle Hanna, Jamie (Blake) Ledger; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Esther Mergener. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Visitation will continue Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Rockford Springs Community Church, 5815 14 Mile Road, Rockford. Pastor David VanderMeer officiating.
