Fern O. (Bergman) Emert, 95 of Ensley Township, Sand Lake died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Fountain View Retirement Village, Grant. Fern was born April 12, 1916 in Ensley Township, MI the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Parker) Buhr. She was a very loving mother and enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools. She made the greatest pies, loved gardening, her flowers, yard work and birds. She enjoyed going to Florida for many years with her husband Frank and liked collecting sea shells. She attended Ensley Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Marvin) Helton of Newaygo, Janet (Larry) Powell of Alpena, Chuck (Gayle) Bergman of Sand Lake; stepchildren, Roger (Betty) Emert, Jacki (Jay) Vredeveld all of Newaygo; grandchildren, Kevin Bergman, Connie (Newell) Snyder, Ron (Lin) Helton, Julie Rumbles, Kelly Powell, Rick Emert, Pam Chartier, Randy Emert, Mike (Linda) Vredeveld, Tim (Star) Vredeveld, Michelle (Todd) Potter; many great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Bergman and Frank Emert; grandson, Brian Powell. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where services will be held Saturday 11:00 am. Pastor James Ankerberg officiating. Interment Crandall Cemetery, Ensley Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Fountain View Retirement Village or Ensley Baptist Church.
