With hearts full of love and sorrow, we remember Estella, who was born on May 5, 2022, to Alyssa and Samual Johnson, joining her siblings, Colton, Sofia, and Savion. She passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love in just three short years.
Though her time on earth was far too short, Estella’s life was filled with a light and love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She was deeply loved and brought immense joy to everyone around her.
Estella came from a large and loving family. In addition to her parents and siblings, she is survived by her grandparents: Lisa Cowley; Samuel and Lindsay Cowley; Jim and Jackie Anthony; Judy and Dewy Patrick; and Tom Johnson; as well as her great-grandmother, Mary Dunham. She is also survived by many aunts and uncles: Brittany Cowley; Jonathon (Emily) Dunham; Kristopher (Clara) Johnson; Nikolas (Mareina) Johnson; Alex Johnson; Andrew (Daniela) Canaca; and Elena Laroue; along with 16 cousins and countless other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Estella gave her family a lifetime of unforgettable memories—each one filled with wonder, laughter, tenderness, and boundless love. She shared an especially unbreakable bond with her brother, Colton; the two were inseparable, cooking together, sleeping side by side, and playing endlessly, creating a connection that will forever be cherished. Each night, one of Estella’s sweetest routines was giving her momma gentle kisses on the cheek, often followed by a soft “I love you”—a simple but deeply meaningful expression of the love she carried in her heart.
As she grew, Estella blossomed into a curious, intelligent, outgoing, and feisty little girl. She was inquisitive about the world around her, expressive in every emotion, and imaginative in all she did. She loved to pretend, to explore, and to fully immerse herself in play.
As a North Kent Head Start student, Estella’s dynamic spirit shined brightly. She radiated confidence and potential, was deeply inspired by her teachers—especially when they styled her hair—and naturally took on a leadership role among her peers.
While she was adventurous and bold, Estella was also a snuggler at heart—a gentle, loving soul who found her greatest joy in closeness, comfort, and connection. Alyssa and Sam cherished the way her eyes would light up with pure excitement each time they walked through the door.
Above all, Estella’s greatest legacy is one of love. She loved deeply and openly, never hesitating to express it.
Though her passing is sudden and unimaginable, Estella’s impact will never fade. Her radiant, joyful life—overflowing with affection—will continue to inspire and comfort all who carry her memory forward.
Estella will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
The family invites all who loved her to join them from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at K.E. Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, also at the funeral home. Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery. More information regarding the luncheon will follow!
