Erma I. Thompson

Erma I. Thompson, 87 of Sand Lake passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Metro Health Hospital. Mrs. Thompson was born December 23, 1927 in Sand Lake, MI the daughter of Ira and Ida (Lucht) Rowland. She graduated from Sand Lake High School in 1946 and had stayed very involved in the Alumni Association. She had been past president of the Kent City High School Band Boosters and had enjoyed canning and attending all events she was invited to. Surviving are her children, Chris Marie Thompson, David Thompson & Elisabeth Kehoe-Thompson, Gary & Marcia Thompson, Ron & Wanda Thompson; grandson, Jonathan Thompson; other step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Albert (Adeline) Thompson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Leonard; three brothers, Harold, Kenneth and Lloyd Rowland. The family will greet friends Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where services will be held Sunday 2:00 pm. Pastor Ron Thompson officiating. Private family interment at Pierson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
