View Photo Tribute Elizabeth J. Schmidt, 89 of Sand Lake, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 10, 2007 and is now making the heavens a little brighter. Mrs. Schmidt was born March 25, 1917 in Hermansville, MI the daughter of Edward and Julia (Niedefski) Taylor. She was a member of Mary Queen of Apostle Catholic Church, Sand Lake. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are 6 children, Kathleen (Jim) Sheneman, Marilyn (Bill) Lennon, Linda (George F.) Zeeff, Jack (Kathy) Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Deb (Brian) Happie; 23 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2001; a son, John Edward; 4 brothers, Edward, Alfred, Frank and Lawrence Taylor; 2 sisters, Gladys Hoover and Lorraine Townshend. The family will celebrate her life on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph W. Kenshol celebrant. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Queen of Apostles Church Building Fund or Hospice of Michigan.
