Eleanor June Warren

Eleanor June Warren 92, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Meadowlark Retirement Facility in Sparta, MI. June, a graduate of Cedar Springs High School and Davenport College, was the first woman from this area to join the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) from 1943 to 1945. Surviving are her children, Pat and Gordon Johnson of Cedar Springs, Penny and Joseph Mitchell of Stevensville, MI, Linda and Jack Phillips of High Springs, FL, Stevan and Lola Warren of Cedar Springs, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon B. Warren and both of her sisters, Donna Nowlin and Phyllis Hardy. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Herb VanderBilt officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider donations to the American Cancer Society.
