Elaine Singer

Josephine Elaine Singer 85, of Coral, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Elaine was born March 23, 1925 in Hamburg, MI, the daughter of Vincent and Maude (Kuhn) Young. She was valedictorian of the class of 1943 at Pinckney High School and a member of St. Clara’s Catholic Church, Coral. She was very proud of her Irish heritage (Catholic and Democrat) and accepted and embraced new family members as her own. Surviving are her husband, Morgan Frederick whom she married on May 8, 1948; children, Joe & Lavonne Singer, Fred Singer & Eileen Mueller, Pat & Julie Singer, Nancy & Frank D’Amico, and Betty & Steve Schaner; grandchildren, Isaac & Dawn Singer, Erin & John Trachet, Anji & Jim Barbour, Katie Singer, Chuck & Sara Singer, Jeanette & Tyler Kish, Shannon & Jeff Anderson, Nicole & Lee Phinney, Anna D’Amico, Mara D’Amico, and Samantha Singer; nine great grandchildren. Elaine was blessed to be part of a large, extended family of brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law and many, many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake. Rev. Fr. Joseph W. Kenshol celebrant. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pinckney Saturday at 1:00 pm.
