Edwin LaVern Moon, 87 of Pierson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his home. Mr. Moon was born October 21, 1927 in Thompsonville, MI the son of John and Della (Sawmiller) Moon. He married the love of his life, Barbara Dewey on July 1, 1950 and together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage and raised three daughters. He worked for American Seating Company for 42 years and retired as a supervisor in 1988. He was a member of the Church of the Full Gospel in Sand Lake where he had served as Deacon and Treasurer. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and selling flowers, and playing cribbage. He was a great father who loved his daughters very much. Surviving are his daughters, Kathleen Moon, Janet King, Mary Ellen Fish; grandchildren, Terri Troupe, Ryan (Amanda) King, Justin King; great grandchildren, Jacqueline (Blake), Kesslie (Kolton), Nathon, Elliott, and one on the way. brother, John “Jack” (Valita) Moon; sisters-in-law, Florence Moon and Evelyn Moon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in 2010; sons-in-law, Duane Fish and Charles “Cal” King; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Full Gospel, Sand Lake with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Pastor Gary Giddings officiating. Interment Pierson Cemetery.
