Edward N. Shirley

Edward N. Shirley age 85 of Sand Lake, died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at his home. Ed was born April 4, 1934 in St. Paul, MN the son of Norman and Sarah (Churchward) Shirley. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors 36th Street Plant. Surviving are his children, Linda (Bruce) Yeakey, Johnnie (Rita) Simon, Steven Simon; daughter-in-law, Mary Dorey; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; niece and nephew, Virgina Ashcraft and Glen Townsley Bacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della; sons, Robert Shirley and Rocky Dorey; sister, Jacqueline Holmes. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Interment Crapo Cemetery, Green Township.
