Edna M. Cook 96 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Ensley Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior whom she loved dearly and was looking forward to seeing on Monday, April 18, 2011. Mrs. Cook was born October 3, 1914 in Sand Lake, MI the daughter of Fred and Florence (Brown) Barton. Along with her husband, Howard, they owned and operated Cook’s General Store in Ensley Center for 23 years until 1976. She was a member of Ensley Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. Surviving are her children, Nadine Rader of Grand Rapids, Nora (William) Bolthouse of Avila Beach, CA, William (Sharon) Cook of Newaygo; 12 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Dorothy Barton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale in 1949; husband, Howard in 1988; and son-in-law, Sidney Rader in 2005. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Saturday 12 noon. Dr. Bill Bolthouse and Pastor James Ankerberg officiating. Interment Crandall Cemetery, Ensley Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Shepherds Ministries, 1805-15th Avenue, Union Grove, WI 53182 or Mel Trotter Ministries, 225 Commerce SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
