Edith J. Benjamin

Edith J. Benjamin 81 of Cedar Springs, died suddenly on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at her home. Edith was born February 20, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Jennie Wolfe. She was very dedicated to her husband, her deep love for her family and home was evident in all she did. She also enjoyed working for Meijers for 42 years, beginning at the Cedar Springs store. Surviving are her husband Warren whom she married on March 7, 1947; 2 children, Fay (Barbara) Benjamin, Jean M. Benjamin all of Cedar Springs; 4 grandchildren, Jon (Tara) Loba, Renee Loba, Jennie Benjamin, Matthew Benjamin; 1 great grandson, Kaleb; sister-in-law, Kathleen Davis; nieces, Nancy (Will) Jones, Linda Stephens, Karen Davis, Denise (Craig) Whitlow; great niece, Dyan Underhill; various cousins. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Russell Wolfe. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Thursday 10:00 am at East Nelson United Methodist Church, Pastor Herb Vander Bilt officiating. Interment East Nelson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
