Douglas O. Parker (Doug) passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2023 after battling lung cancer. He was born January 22, 1952 to the late Donald and Gayla Parker. He graduated from Central High School in 1970. He served proudly in the US Army Reserve following high school. He recently retired from his company, Parker Engineering. He married Linda (Putnam) in 1972 and they celebrated 50 years together in 2022. He loved being a “girl dad” to his 3 treasured daughters, Sarah (Dan) Hormuth, Amy (JD) Fox and Rebecca (Cliff) Parker-Sandee. His greatest joy came from his 7 grandchildren, Monica and Shannon Hormuth, Taylor and Shelby Fox, Declan, Cadigan and Shea Sandee. Also surviving are his siblings Gay, Jan, Donna and Keith. His brother Fred predeceased him. Also surviving are his aunt Katherine Gilchrist, sisters-in-law Teresa Putnam and Kristen Putnam, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was a perpetual Mr. Fix-It and his greatest joys were fishing and tending campfires. He loved cars from racing to wrenching, rehabbing and collecting old Tonka’s. He loved lake life from his youth to his final days. Special thanks to Spectrum Health Hospice, especially Maria and Ashley for their excellent care during his illness.
