Dorothy L. Rowland

Dorothy L. Rowland 90 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus. Mrs. Rowland was born March 30, 1921 in Coral, MI the daughter of Charley and Marie (Christiansen) Tompsett. Surviving are her children, Jack Rowland and Ellen Bourke of Beverly Hills, MI, Duane Rowland of Cedar Springs, Willard Rowland of Grand Rapids, Kathleen and Brian Botbyl of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Rowland of Sparta; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Paul and Sharon Tompsett; sister, Charlotte and Lewis Peck; sister-in-law, Barbara Rowland; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; sons, Victor and Steven; brother, Ray Tompsett; sister, Margaret Wilson. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A graveside service will be Wednesday 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
