Doris I. Starr

Doris I. Starr age 97 of rural Cedar Springs, MI passed away and entered the presence of the Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Doris was born October 27, 1926 in Pierson Township, Montcalm County to Ralph and Clara (Plumb) Totten. She was the sixth of eight children and was raised on the farm. She thoroughly enjoyed the farm life and working the land and raising livestock. Doris attended Huggard Bible Church and took her children, her faith in God was a major part of her life. She is survived by her children, Gary Thompson of Kalamazoo, Ron (Wanda) Thompson of LaGrange, WY, Tammy Starr-Evans of Cedar Springs; daughter-in-law, Diane Starr; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Sandy) Totten; sister-in-law, Pat Totten; special niece, Sandra Jones; and a whole slew of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband and farming partner, Vern; son, Dan; daughter-in-law, Marcia Thompson; siblings, Edna Pieper, Ardis Westfall, Joan Wainright, Lloyd Totten, Jack Totten. The family will greet friends Thursday, February 15 from 5-7 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday 11:00 am. Pastors Ron Thompson and Jonathan Clear officiating. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Starr Memorial Scholarship at Frontier School of the Bible, P.O.
