Donald A. Werner

Donald A. Werner age 65, of Howard City, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at University of Michigan Medicine Health, Ann Arbor. He was born October 26, 1960 in Ionia, MI the son of Donald and Dorothy (Miller) Werner, Sr. He was the owner of DTW Transport, which he started with his wife, Tammy (Bean) in 2009. He shared a uniquely personal bond with his Savior. His life was anchored by his favorite verse, Joshua 24:15. He was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed traveling and cruise ships, NASCAR, music, playing the bass guitar, his back porch and bonfires. Don was a straight shooter and told you what you needed to hear. He was a great father and supported his son in all his activities. Surviving are his wife, Tammy; son, Donavin; sister, Darlene Powell and Mike Antonides; chosen children, Norm (Nicole) Cole, Holly Almy; in-laws, Teresa (Kirk) Free, Timothy (Paula) Bean; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Robert and Norma Bean. The family will greet friends Monday, May 25, from 5-8 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at City Church, 3233 10 Mile Road, Rockford. Private interment Reynolds Township Cemetery, Howard City. Memorial contributions may be made to City Church – Rockford Youth Scholarships.
