Diane E. Calkins

Diane Elizabeth Calkins age 71 of Cedar Springs died Saturday, May 27, 2023. Diane was born on January 1, 1952 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Dale and Helen (Smith) Seadorf. She always considered herself a “factory rat” working in a few over the years. She was a life time member of the VFW Post #3306, Howard City where she was an all-state President. She could be a little bit mouthy but you always knew where you stood with her. She had a special family salute that she wasn’t afraid of showing. Diane enjoyed reading, crocheting, road trips and lighthouses. But she really loved her family and spending time with all of them. She is going to be very missed. Surviving are her children, Scott Dozeman, David (Michele) Dozeman, Amy (Marlon) Fairbrother; grandchildren, Joseph (Lee) Fairbrother, Michael (Brenna) Fairbrother, Tiffany Warren, Fred (Maria) Huizinga, Kaila (Doug) Fairbrother, Ashley Newman, Ariana Dozeman; great grandchildren, Jase, Triton, Xavier, Xander, Taylor, Meiah; siblings, Terri Stressman, Dale (Vickie) Seadorf, Jean Armstrong; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, sister, Joyce, brother-in-law, Don Armstrong. The family will greet friends 6 – 8 pm Wednesday, May 31 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, June 1 with visiting at 10 am. Pastor Jeffrey O’Vell of Grant Wesleyan Church, officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery.
