Dean M. Bremmer

June 25, 1957 — March 7, 2025

Dean Bremmer, 67, of Cedar Springs, passed away Friday, March 7th, 2025, after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Dean was born on June 25, 1957, to the late Arwin and Nancy (Gunnell) Bremmer of Cedar Springs. After graduating with honors from Cedar Springs High School in 1975, Dean studied at Western Michigan University and Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.

Dean moved to Southern California in the early 1980’s and led a joyous and carefree life as a court stenographer in the Laguna Beach area, where he remained a devoted University of Michigan football, Wizard of Oz, and Disney fan. Dean was fond of animals, having exotic fish and birds throughout his life. In his youth, he cared for ducks and crows, including his favorite crow, Herman. Later in life, he spent over 20 years caring for his beloved Amazon Green parrot Bunky, who sadly predeceased him. Dean spent his final years living in Cedar Springs after returning to Michigan in the mid-2000’s. We’re sure Dean appreciated all the love and support he received from aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dean is survived by his siblings, Tim (Karen) Bremmer and Molly (Jeffrey) Bayuk; his nieces and nephews Lisa (Bobby) Jackson, Ethan Bremmer, Bryan (Jennifer) Bremmer, Hillary Carrigan, Benjamin (Julia) Bayuk, and Spencer Bayuk; his great nieces and nephew Kyle Jackson, Taylor Jackson, and Caroline Bremmer; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a private memorial scheduled for a future date. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
