David R. Whitten

David R. Whitten, 69 of Rockford, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home. David was born October 24, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Juel Shelby and Mildred (Brown) Whitten. He graduated from Lee High School and had worked for Steelcase for 25 years. He was a very caring person who would give you the shirt off of his back. Surviving are his wife, Sharon, whom he married on April 7, 1972; children, Sherri (Rodger) McBurney, Stephanie (Warren) Billingsley, David (Melanie) Whitten; 8 grandchildren; sister, Terri (John) Spitz. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dan and Tom. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
