David E. Wert Sr.

David E. Wert Sr. age 86 of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Mary’s, Grand Rapids. Mr. Wert was born March 9, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Fred and Ella (VanCleve) Wert. He had enjoyed gardening, lawn work, walking and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Marillyn whom he married on Nov. 9, 1951; children, David (Elaine) Wert Jr., Debra Elder, Diana (Michael) Etlinger, Daniel (Patricia) Wert, Brenda (George) Hanna; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; sister, Beulah (Gary) Chase. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings. The family will greet friends Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Monday 11:00 am.
