David C. Bastian

David C. Bastian age 79 of Howard City died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. He was born August 30, 1941 in Cogan Station, PA the son of J. Harold and Hazel (Wise) Bastian. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. David was very hard working and took care of his family. He was affectionately known as Grumpa. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; children, David C. Bastian II, Janice Holton (Terry), Rebecca Patterson, Hannah Bastian (Zach); grandchildren, Chloe, Jackie and Emily Holton, Rose Bastian, PFC Jacob Bastian, Emma Bastian, Lana Bastian, Trevor, Grace Hall, Tori, Timmy and Jessica Patterson, River Dewitt; 4 great grandchildren. The family will greet friends Monday, April 19 from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A private family graveside will be held Tuesday at Reynolds Township Cemetery, Howard City. Chaplain Daniel Pflug officiating.
