Darwin F. Armstrong

Darwin F.  Armstrong age 82 of Cedar Springs died Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at home. He was born June 19, 1942 in Solon Township, MI the son of James and Vera (Middleton) Armstrong. He was a Kent County Deputy for 30 years. Darwin loved and trained horses and enjoyed trail riding and farming. Later he was a security guard for Rockford School Freshmen Center. He was very proud that he shot his first buck at age 61 with his son Chad as witness. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Hawley) Armstrong; son, Michael Chad (Nancy) Armstrong, daughter, Carrie (Jay) Gale; grandchildren, Katie, Travis and Morgan Gale, Quinn, Zane and Fallon Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna L. Russell, Russell J. Armstrong, Dwyaine Armstrong and Mary Jane Rowley. The family will greet friends Sunday, August 25 from 6-8 pm at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Monday at 12:00 pm with a visitation at 11:00 am. Pastor Jim Tol officiating.
