Darryl V. Pike

September 5, 1956 — September 25, 2022

Darryl Vaughn Pike passed away at the age of 66 on Sunday, September 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Darryl was a wonderfully skilled builder, an avid outdoorsman, and a dedicated (and vocal!) sports enthusiast. In his early years Darryl grew up working on the family farm, where he developed his knowledge of all things outdoors, fostered his need for speed through dirt bikes, and generated his love of loud music. He took a job with a local builder following high school and not long after used his knowledge to start his own company, where he worked alongside his good friend (Denny) for over 30 years and completed the construction of many quality local homes. Darryl married his high school sweetheart (Sandra Lee), fathered two energetic sons (Cody and Casey) and spent years coaching and attending sporting events year-round. He looked forward to family camping trips, ice fishing tournaments, opening day hunting activities, and week-long annual fishing excursions to Canada with his two brothers (Al & Steve) and many other close family/friends. In his more recent years, Darryl enjoyed daily coffee with the morning group at Sues Country Kitchen, rides in his truck with his loving significant other (Teresa) and their dog Molly, and serving as Papa/Grandpa to four beautifully wild grandsons (Evan, Christian, Leelan and Taylor). Darryl is preceded in death by his father Eugene Pike, mother Crystal Pike (Proctor), and wife Sandra Lee Pike (Kist). He is survived by his girlfriend Teresa O’Brien, brothers Al (Pam) Pike and Steve (Sandy) Pike, sons Cody (Elizabeth) Pike and Casey (Emily) Pike, grandsons Evan, Christian, Leelan and Taylor, aunt Guelda Schultz and many nieces, nephews and long-time close friends. Darryl will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by so many. The family will greet friends/family to share in his influential memory at a visitation on Sunday, October 2nd from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will be held 6:00 - 10:00 pm, Saturday, Oct. 15 at Glen Hill Post 287 American Legion, 91 S. 1st St. Cedar Springs. Dinner will be provided. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Darryl’s memory to the organization that greatly impacted his childhood, Shriners Hospitals for Children
