Darold L. Harper

Darold Harper, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. He was born November 26, 1935 in Oakfield Township, MI the son of Glenn and Blanche (Essex) Harper. He lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

Darold was preceded in death by his wives, Charlene and Janie, his daughter, Cathy and grandson Aaron. He is survived by his children: Craig (Valerie) Harper, Dave (Tonya) Harper, and Lori (Pat) Bielecki, son in-law Scott Hayden; as well as his stepchildren: Teresa (Tim) Boehm, Tanya (Rick) Sevey, Todd (Mary) Hall, and Trever (Ann) Hall. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family members, his special friend Norma Guernsey and other friends who will cherish his memory.

Throughout his life, Darold worked and was part owner of Cedar Springs Tractor. He had a passion for farming and spent countless hours working the land he loved. He also enjoyed saw milling, tractor pulling, and playing euchre—simple pleasures that brought him joy and often brought family and friends together.

Darold will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet strength, and the legacy he built through his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will greet friends Sunday, May 10 from 3:00 pm until time of service at 4:00 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating. Private interment in Spencer Mills Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society.
