Darlene P. Elder

Darlene P. Elder age 74 of Newaygo, died Friday, April 10, 2020 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital. Darlene was born January 18, 1946, the daughter of Fred and Ella (VanCleve) Wert. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world. She also found joy in watching The Price is Right and Animal Planet. Darlene had a great love for dogs. She loved all her family dearly. Surviving are her children, Chad (Melody) Elder, Tammy (Brian) Hills, Gerri Aley (John Coleman); 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, David (Marilyn) Wert; sister, Beulah (Gary) Chase; mother-in-law, Virginia Fisher; sister-in-law, Judy (Dan) Sturgeon; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 2016; son, Maurice Dean; 7 brothers and sisters. A celebration of her life will be announced in the summer. Interment with her husband in Solon Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
