Daniel G. Nielsen

Daniel George Nielsen, 85, of Cedar Springs, MI passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, surrounded by prayer, song, and those who loved him. He was a dedicated husband, the strong and loving foundation of the Nielsen family, and will be deeply missed. He and his bride, Sondra Nielsen, raised four children and went on to love and invest in eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Dan was a proud soldier in the United States Army, manager of a tire business and a realtor with The Stout Group. Through the years, Dan was an enthusiastic hunter, fisherman and tennis player. His favorite places were his cabin in Newago County, hunting camp in the U.P., the farm in Tennessee and Marco Island, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sondra; his daughters, Darci (Mike) Waite, Dorai (Bruce) Van Dyke, Duinn (Scott) Shevock and his son, Drew (Becky) Nielsen; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
