Cyril Eugene “Gene” Adams, 81 of Cedar Springs, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Gene was born September 1, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Homer and Ruth (Cole) Adams. He was a chemical engineer for Corduroy Rubber for over 40 years. He enjoyed motorcycle riding with his wife and was a very quiet and unassuming man who was much appreciated for helping others. On July 18, 1952 he married the girl next door, JoAnn (Overley) who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jacqueline (Richard) Ransom of Conklin, Barbara (Michael) Grutter of Cedar Springs, Brian (Mary) Adams of California; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Marvin (Nancy) Adams of Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by a son Jonathan and several brothers and 1 sister. An open house to receive friends will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 1-4 pm at Mike and Barb Grutter’s home, 14070 Myers Lake, Cedar Springs.
