Christine Renee Vandyke

Christine R. (Welch) VanDyke, 46 of Newaygo, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Chris was born October 6, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Robert and Carolyn (Neer) Welch. She was a 1977 graduate of Kenowa Hills High School and had worked at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus for 23 years. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother (Mema), and a great sister and daughter. She was a fighter in her battle with cancer. Surviving are her husband, Ronald; 1 daughter, Nicole VanDyke of Newaygo; 2 grandchildren, Hailey and JJ; mother, Carolyn Welch of Belmont; father and mother-in-law, Donald & Winifred VanDyke of Sand Lake; 2 sisters, Lisa Middleton & Marvin Miller of Wayland, Lori Welch & John Vereeke of Grand Rapids; brother, Steve & Debbie Welch of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Randal VanDyke of Sand Lake; sister-in-law, Cheryl & Pete Rose of Sand Lake; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1998. The family will greet friends Thursday from 7-9 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. Pastors Jim Howard and Thomas Logsdon officiating. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gilda’s Club.
